KIDS CAN COOK
Grade 5 & 6 interactive

Complementing the Curriculum

ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen's innovative School Program takes place in our 3,000 square foot Calgary Learning Centre.

The program aimed at students in Grade 5 and 6, is designed to:

  • introduce students to basic cooking skills and kitchen safety in a fun, fully interactive format.
  • align with the health and life skills curriculum.
  • provide teachers with the tools and resources to incorporate healthy living activities into their classrooms.

This unique program was developed by ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen's professional Red Seal Chefs.



The Experience

ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen's team of experts will facilitate an interactive learning experience and group discussions as students rotate through a series of stations. At each learning station, hands-on activities are tied to curriculum and skills development.

Activities include:

  • Preparation 
  • Cooking 
  • Tasting
  • Eating together as a group

Energy & Safety Tips
Cooking attire

Don't wear loose clothes while cooking. An electrical coil on the stove reaches a temperature of 800 degrees and a gas flame goes over 1,000 degrees. A dishtowel, potholder or a loose sleeve can catch fire at 400 degrees.
