How to Eat a Mango

Return to Cooking 101
Don’t peel the mango before cutting it. Use a sharp knife and slice the mango lengthwise on each side of the pit to remove it. Score the flesh of each half into squares by cutting down to, but not through, the skin. Gently push up the skin of each mango half until it’s inside out, pushing the mango cubes up and apart. Cut the cubes from the skin and serve.

Energy & Safety Tips
Cooking attire

Don't wear loose clothes while cooking. An electrical coil on the stove reaches a temperature of 800 degrees and a gas flame goes over 1,000 degrees. A dishtowel, potholder or a loose sleeve can catch fire at 400 degrees.
