SESAME LIME BABY BOK CHOY

Baby Bok Choy is commonly used in Asian cooking, so it makes sense to season it with this Asian-inspired mix of soy sauce, lime, ginger and sesame oil. Cook the bok choy directly on the barbecue for an interesting grilled side dish.

Yield: Serves 7.

SESAME LIME BABY BOK CHOY

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp grated lime peel
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 2 tbsp liquid honey
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 7 baby bok choy, halved lengthwise

Directions

  1. To prepare marinade, combine all ingredients except bok choy in a bowl. Add bok choy and toss to coat. Let stand for 15 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, preheat natural gas barbecue on high heat for 10 - 15 minutes.
  3. Remove bok choy from marinade; reserve marinade to serve with bok choy. Grill bok choy until wilted and grill-marked, about 1 – 2 minutes per side. Serve drizzled with reserved marinade.
