We invite you to enjoy What's Hot for September 2010 from ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen!
TIPS AND TRIVIA
Do you know that canned beans, such as kidney beans, black beans and chickpeas, are rinsed to remove excess salt and any starchy liquid? Drain the rinsed beans thoroughly before using in a recipe. Beans that are canned in a sauce, such as pork and beans or chili-style beans, are not rinsed before using.
STONE SOUP
Remember the children’s story about the villagers who were tricked into helping strangers make a delicious soup from stones? The moral of the story is all about cooperation and sharing. ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen would like to share some wonderful new soup recipes with you. They will make your fall meals more interesting, stones not included!
CORNBREAD WINNERSServe one of these cornbread recipes with your soup for a satisfying meal your family or guests will rave about.
FIVE INGREDIENTS OR LESS
Using five ingredients or less, serve up one of these easy-to-grill seafood recipes for Labour Day long weekend. Or for that first day of school dinner celebration, dish one of them up with a plate of linguine.
KEEP YOUR METER CLEAR
ATCO Gas meter readers need unobstructed access to your natural gas meter to provide you with an accurate reading for your bill. Unknown hidden obstacles in your yard present a potential hazard for you and our employees. In the fall, it’s important to clean up your yard and remove any hazards that could be hidden by snow in the winter.
