GINGER SESAME GREEN BEANS

Ginger and sesame go perfectly with fresh green beans. This flavourful side dish comes together in a matter of minutes.

GINGER SESAME GREEN BEANS

Ingredients

  • 5 cups fresh or frozen trimmed green beans
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1/8 tsp thyme, crumbled

Directions

  1. Cook beans in boiling salted water for 2 minutes; drain. Cool immediately in ice water; drain. Beans may be prepared to this point and refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
  2. Heat canola oil and sesame oil in a frypan over medium heat. Add ginger, garlic, salt, pepper and thyme; saute for 1 minute.
  3. Add beans and saute until heated through, about 4 minutes. Serve immediately.
