PARMESAN ONION BISCUITS

These quick biscuits are flavoured with Parmesan cheese and green onions. Serve them warm as a side dish with plenty of butter.

Yield: Makes 10.

PARMESAN ONION BISCUITS

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup salted butter, chilled
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped green onion
  • 3/4 cup milk (2%)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F
  2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Mix in Parmesan cheese and onion. Stir in milk just until combined.
  3. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently 5 times. Roll out dough into a 4x10 inch rectangle. Using a sharp knife, cut dough into 10 squares.
  4. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
