​Course Descriptions

We offer a variety of cooking classes on various topics. All of our programs include information on food safety and tips on how to use energy safely and efficiently.

You may notice some of our class topics are repeated, but the menus are changing! With seasonal ingredients come seasonal menu options and topics. Be sure to ask upon registration.

Calgary Class Descriptions

Lunch 'n Learn

Guests watch the chef instructor demonstrate the preparation of their meal while dining on the dishes being featured. This is a full three-course lunch, complete with dessert to finish things off. If you’re in a hurry, the classes are designed to fit within an hour, so you can leave promptly once the class is over. If you’re not in a rush to get back to the office, the chef instructor is available after class to answer questions about anything presented in the session.

Weekend and Evening Cooking Classes

Our weekend and evening classes fall under two categories:  

Hands-On

Our chef instructors provide guidance as guests get into the action and work with their hands. The chefs are always there to assist as you learn the methods, and to answer your questions. A meal and beverages are included, and will match the theme of the class.

Chef’s Table

A demonstration class with a more intimate atmosphere. Our chef instructor guides guests through the preparation of their meal, sharing tips and advice for home cooks learned from years of culinary experience. This is a longer class, which means our chef instructor is able to be more detail-oriented. 

Chef's table is typically consists of six courses or more, so don’t fill up beforehand; you’ll need room for dessert.

Corporate & Custom Cooking Classes 

Get your corporate team, bachelorette party or birthday guests cooking with a culinary event! Our tasty offerings have expanded to include unique cooking classes that will leave your guests equipped with improved skills both in and out of the kitchen. Choose from a wide variety of activities, including interactive, entertaining demos and prepared themed menus.

Community Outreach Workshops

Hosting an event that needs engaging and informative presenters? Our Community Educators can be there! We offer a variety of services that we can bring to you, including presentations, demonstrations and classes!

Evening and Weekend Classes

Learn about different types of cuisine and new cooking techniques in a relaxing and fun atmosphere, led by our Community Educators and Home Economists. These classes are demonstration style or hands-on. Beverages and light samples are served.

Kids Can Cook Program

Community Educators travel to your classroom to give students the knowledge and skills to empower them to make healthy choices. Students do hands-on activities tied to the curriculum and skills development. We bring all the groceries, equipment and recipes.
