Around the World

Pack your aprons—we’re travelling the globe. In Around the World, kids explore flavours from different countries while learning essential kitchen skills along the way. From rolling and mixing to sautéing and seasoning, each class introduces new ingredients and techniques in a fun, hands-on environment. It’s a delicious way to build confidence and curiosity in the kitchen.

Kids dinner takeover

In this two-day camp, your junior chef will prepare a variety of family-friendly dishes, including soups, salads, mains, and a dessert or two. Recipes will include cottage pie, carrot coriander soup, and herbed biscuits.

Do you have a budding chef in the making? Our Calgary children summer camps are designed for kids ages 9-11* and are the perfect place for youngsters to explore their culinary creativity. We provide a fun and safe environment for your kids to make delicious dishes, develop kitchen confidence, and cultivate a lifelong skill and love of cooking.

Your child will learn the basics of food preparation, kitchen safety, and cooking techniques from our Red Seal Chefs—all while having a lot of fun! Each day, your junior chefs will get to take home their culinary creations for your family to taste.

*Campers must be turning 9 in 2026

During our Calgary kids’ summer camp, we’ll take your little ones on an international culinary journey, where every day brings something new! From teriyaki chicken to comforting French soup and favourites from Mexico, Germany and Southeast Asia, your kids will have a blast learning to cook fun, flavour-packed recipes inspired by cuisine from across the globe.

Learning how to prepare great dishes takes far more than just following recipes. It requires familiarity with kitchen tools and appliances, an understanding of ingredients, and respect for food safety.

Your kids will learn all of this and more in our fully-equipped, professional-grade kitchen located in ATCO Park in South Calgary.

Before you book

Find answers to common questions about bookings, policies, and what to expect.

We provide snacks, lunch, cooking ingredients and equipment. All your kids need to bring is their appetite and the willingness to learn!

Due to the volume of the recipes campers will be making, we are unable to accommodate any food allergies or dietary restrictions. If your child has a food allergy that you believe will restrict what they are able to eat during the camp (snacks and lunch), we advise that they bring a bagged lunch.

Our staffing model will be 1 chef instructor for each group of 24 children, with 2-3 camp counselors for oversight and coordination.

Our cooking camps strive to be an inclusive environment for all children. Please make us aware of any disabilities or behavioural needs that may affect your child’s participation.

While our goal is inclusive participation, there are times when a child requires more support than our staff can provide. Therefore, we welcome the opportunity for parents to send a support person to accompany the child.

Complimentary before and after care is available from 8:30 – 9 am and from 4 – 4:30 pm.

If you require changes to or need to cancel your class registration, please contact bfkadmin@atcoblueflamekitchen.com

All rosters are finalized 21 days before the start of a class, in order to receive a refund, all bookings must be cancelled at least 21 days before the start of the class.

If registration for a camp is less than 12 people, we reserve the right to cancel the camp to ensure participants enjoy the very best experience possible. We will make every effort to contact guests in advance and will offer you an opportunity to re-book for another camp or provide a full refund.
