Calgary Cooking Classes

Blue Flame Kitchen Learning Centre COVID-19 Notice

Due to the recent public health restrictions put in place by Alberta Health Services (AHS), ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen has made the difficult decision to cancel all in-person classes until further notice.

This includes all 2020 kids summer camps. We have made this decision based on AHS restrictions to class size, social distancing measures, and to ensure the health and safety of the kids, parents and our staff.

We will continue to prioritize the well being of our staff and our guests, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time.

For updates regarding our cooking classes, private events, café, and answerline, please subscribe to our Newsletter.

Thank you.

Calgary Kids Camps

Virtual Kids Classes

We are exploring the possibility of hosting Virtual Kids Cooking Classes and would love to get your feedback. Please fill out this short survey to let us know how to best serve you and your child during this time.

Public Cooking Classes

With our culinary classes, you can expand your recipe collection and learn new techniques from our chef instructors. Explore cultures through their dishes or delve more deeply into different types of meals.

Whether you want to learn about a new cuisine over lunch or try a new style of cooking with a hands-on lesson, we offer all types of classes for budding and experienced cooks.

Browse through our Calgary cooking class categories below or download our monthly calendars for full list of upcoming class themes.

Calgary Hands-On

Hands-On

There’s no better way to learn than getting into the action. In our hands-on classes, you will learn new methods and recipes by making them yourself. Our chef instructors guide the way, answering questions and assisting you as needed. Since no cooking class is complete without something to eat, we will provide a meal and beverages – all matched to the class’s theme.

Calgary Lunch 'N Learn Classes

Lunch 'N Learn

Watch, learn, and eat! Learn new cooking tips and tricks during your lunch, while enjoying a delicious chef prepared 3 course meal, coffee and tea included. Our Chef Instructor will demonstrate how to make each course you eat. Questions? Stick around after class to speak to the Chef Instructor. Then go home with a recipe package with everything you ate during lunch so you can create these tasty dishes from home!

Calgary Chef's Table Class

Chef's Table

For a more intimate lesson that dives more deeply into its subject, we offer Chef’s Table classes. Over a six-course meal – or sometimes more – our chef instructors share recipes, along with their best tips and advice learned from years of experience. Like dinner at a chef’s table in a restaurant, you will be well fed, entertained and leave ready to try some new recipes at your own table.

South Health Campus

South Health Campus

Live in south Calgary? Come to the South Health Campus Wellness Kitchen! Our chef instructors teach demonstration style evening classes about once a month. These one-hour weekday classes include a light meal, a demonstration lesson on how to make the dishes you are served, and the corresponding recipe package.

Private Programs

Calgary Private Events

Private Events

If you can dream it, we can do it! Our private events range from corporate team building, receptions and presentations, to larger events. Choose from the array of class packages we've created or share your ideas with us and we will make it happen. Events are hosted in our beautiful modern facility in Calgary's Garrison Green neighbourhood, just off Crowchild Trail and 50th avenue at ATCO Park. The Calgary learning centre features top-of-the-line appliances and a video display system designed specifically for cooking classes.

Calgary School Program

Kids Can Cook School Program

Basic cooking skills are an important building block for kids. Learning about food, kitchen safety and how to cook will help them now and in the future.

Through our Kids Can Cook School Program, our chef instructors teach basic cooking skills in our kitchen with hands-on activities tied to the school curriculum. Kids learn how to prepare, cook and taste food and then all eat together as a group. At the same time, teachers will get tools and resources they can use to weave healthy living activities into lessons once back at school.
