Quick Beef Broth Fondue

Fondue does not have to be just cheese. A simple beef broth is a great way to cook cubes of beef or vegetables and then enjoy with your favourite dipping sauces.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups no-salt-added beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 8 black peppercorns
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine broth, water, ginger, soy sauce, onions, garlic and peppercorns. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat; let stand for 30 minutes.
  3. Strain; season with salt.
  4. Transfer to a metal fondue pot and keep hot.
  5. May be prepared and refrigerated up to 24 hours.
