How-to make pinecone bird feeders

If your kids love crafts and enjoy doing fun activities, we have some great ideas!  Follow our easy step-by-step instructions on how to make a homemade bird feeder. Once completed, have fun choosing the perfect hanging spot. This kid-friendly craft will provide hours of enjoyment for the whole family. 

  • For each you will need: 

    • 1 pinecone 
    • 2 feet kitchen twine or yarn. 
    • Nut butter 
    • Birdseed 
    • Butter knife 
    • Shallow bowl 

     

    Directions: 

     

    1. Tie one end of yarn to the pinecone.  
    2. Spread a layer of nut butter over the entire surface of the pinecone. 
    3. Place birdseed in the shallow bowl. Roll the covered pinecone in the seed until fully covered. 
    4. Hang in a tree!
