My favourite long weekend barbecue recipe is Smoky Grilled Steak and Romaine Salad. A family favourite! The combination of the grilled steak with the smoky flavour barbecuing Romaine hearts and tomato dressing is delicious.

It shouts summer on the prairies; brings back childhood memories of berry picking; great conversation starter as everyone has had a saskatoon bush somewhere in their lives; LOVE oatmeal cookie-like topping.

I'm all about tacos and especially on a hot summer day, fish tacos are a bit lighter and you can stay outside while doing the cooking! They can make a great appetizer on small tortillas or be a main course item as well. The recipe can easily be doubled or tripled if you've got a few guests. Pair these with a margarita and you've got the makings of a nice summer afternoon!
Ribs in my house have to be sauced or I will have a revolt on my hands. This is a recipe that gives you that sweet, sour and spicy kick we love with our ribs.
Green Onion Cakes on the BBQ are fun to do and I love serving them with our barbecued Korean Chicken Skewers.

This is a great summer drink that you can really play with. Want it less sweet? Add more club soda. Want it to be adult-only? Use white wine instead of white grape juice.
