ASIAN MEATBALLS
Our tangy Sweet and Sour Sauce boosts the flavour of these classic beef meatballs. Pass them around with toothpicks at your next cocktail party or family gathering.

ASIAN MEATBALLS
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb (0.75 kg) lean ground beef
- 3/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Dash hot pepper sauce
- Sweet and Sour Sauce*
- 1 green onion, diagonally sliced
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Combine lean ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, garlic, ginger, salt and hot pepper until well blended. Shape mixture into small balls. Place meatballs on a rack in a shallow pan.
- Bake until completely cooked, about 35 - 40 minutes. Cooked meatballs may be frozen for up to 1 month.
- Combine hot meatballs with Sweet and Sour Sauce. Garnish with green onion.

SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup apricot jam
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
Yield: Makes about 1 cup.
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat until mixture is heated through.
