ASPARAGUS WITH ALMONDS
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp salted butter
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 4 cups diagonally sliced asparagus
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- Freshly ground pepper*
- 2 tbsp dry white wine or chicken broth
Directions
- Melt butter in a frypan over medium heat. Add almonds and sauté until lightly browned; transfer almonds to a heatproof bowl and set aside.
- Heat oil in same frypan over medium heat. Add asparagus and onion; sauté for 5 minutes. Season to taste with pepper. Add wine and cook, covered, for 2 minutes. Transfer to serving dish and sprinkle with almonds.
