Balsamic Coffee Marinade

Give your meat or poultry an Italian twist with the flavours of balsamic vinegar and coffee.

Yield: Makes about 1/2 cup

Balsamic Coffee Marinade


  • 1 tsp instant coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp freshly ground pepper


  1. Dissolve coffee granules in hot water; cool.
  2. Combine coffee and remaining ingredients (vinegar through pepper).
  3. Use to marinate meat and poultry. Allow to marinate for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from marinade and grill as desired.
