If you like blue cheese, you’ll love these grilled beef burgers. The creamy blue cheese sauce can be made up to three days in advance.

Yield: Makes 4.



  • 1 green onion, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 lb (0.5 kg) lean ground beef
  • 4 thick slices garlic toast


  1. Preheat natural gas barbecue on medium heat for 10 - 15 minutes.
  2. Chop green onion in food processor. Add mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and salt and process until blended. Add blue cheese and process until smooth. Refrigerate sauce until serving or up to 3 days.
  3. Shape meat into 4 oval-shaped patties. Grill patties until completely cooked. Serve patties on garlic toast topped with blue cheese sauce.
