BOURBON MAPLE SYRUP

Serve this flavourful bourbon-spiked syrup with pancakes, waffles or French toast.

Yield: Makes about 2 cups.

BOURBON MAPLE SYRUP

Ingredients

  • ​1/4 cup bourbon
  • 2 cups maple syrup
  • 1 whole vanilla bean, halved lengthwise or 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Bring bourbon to a simmer in a small non-reactive saucepan and cook, uncovered, for 1 1/2 minutes.
  2. Stir in maple syrup and vanilla bean. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; remove and discard vanilla bean.
  3. May be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
