Brandied White Hot Chocolate

This decadent hot chocolate is the perfect drink to top off a warm winter meal with friends.

Yield: Serves 4

Brandied White Hot Chocolate


  • 6 squares (6 oz) white chocolate, chopped
  • 4 cups milk (2%)
  • 1/3 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup white crème de cacao
  • Sweetened whipped cream and nutmeg*


  1. Place white chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. Heat milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until steaming and just beginning to simmer. Do not boil.
  3. Whisk 1 cup of milk of hot milk into white chocolate, whisking until white chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
  4. Gradually whisk in remaining hot milk.
  5. Stir in brandy and crème de cacao.
  6. Pour into mugs. Top each serving with a dollop of whipped cream and dust with nutmeg.
