Cake Pops

Ingredients

  • 10 cups fine cake crumbs
  • 1 cup frosting
  • 30 treat sticks
  • 1 1/4 lbs tempered melted chocolate
  • Edible decorations, such as sprinkles and pearls, optional

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine crumbs and frosting. Stir until frosting is fully mixed in. The mixture will look like coarse crumbs and hold its shape when squeezed.
  2. Roll crumb mixture into tightly packed 1 1/2 inch balls and place on a parchment –paper-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate until balls are firm, about 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Place one stick half way into each of the firm cake balls.
  4. Place melted chocolate into a tall, narrow container. Working with one pop at a time, dip cake ball portion into chocolate, making sure to cover entirely. Carefully shake off any excess chocolate. Place up-side down on parchment paper- lined baking sheet or into a styrofoam block. Decorate as desired with sprinkles before chocolate sets.
