CARAMELIZED ONION AND GOAT CHEESE PIZZA
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp salted butter
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 2 cups thinly sliced onions
- 1 tsp basil, crumbled
- 1 baked pizza crust
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or tomato-based pasta sauce
- 1 log (150 g) soft goat cheese, crumbled
- Freshly ground pepper*
Directions
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Melt butter with oil in a frypan over medium heat. Add onions and reduce heat to low; cook, stirring occasionally, until light brown, about 25 - 30 minutes. Stir in basil.
- Place pizza crust on an ungreased cookie sheet or pizza pan. Spread pizza sauce evenly over pizza crust. Top with onions and cheese. Sprinkle with pepper.
- Bake until cheese is melted, about 12 - 15 minutes. Slice and serve.
