Cheese Sauce


Made with just a few ingredients, this versatile sauce comes together quickly. Serve over vegetables or cooked pasta as a delicious side dish. 

Storage time: Up to 3 days in the refrigerator. 


Yield: 1 1/2 cups

Cheese Sauce


  • 2 tbsp salted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk (2 %)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter; blend in flour and salt.
  2. Gradually whisk in milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  3. Remove from heat; add cheese and stir until smooth.
