CHICKEN IN MAPLE SAUCE

This easy weeknight dinner is made special with maple syrup, rice vinegar and a touch of grated orange peel.

Yield: Serves 4.

CHICKEN IN MAPLE SAUCE

Ingredients

  • ​1 tbsp butter
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup maple-flavoured pancake syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp grated orange peel

Directions

  1. ​Melt butter in a frypan over medium heat.
  2. Add chicken and cook until chicken is golden brown and cooked through, about 5 - 6 minutes per side. Transfer to a serving dish; keep warm.
  3. To prepare maple sauce, add remaining ingredients (syrup through orange peel) to frypan.
  4. Bring to a boil, scraping to loosen browned bits. Boil until mixture is slightly thickened, about 2 - 3 minutes.
  5. Pour maple sauce over chicken.
