Classic Fettuccine Alfredo

A classic pasta favourite! This creamy, cheesy and flavorful dish is sure to please anyone who tries it.

Classic Fettuccine Alfredo

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, chilled and cubed, divided
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp white pepper
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt
  • 8 oz (250 g) fettuccine or linguine, cooked and drained

Directions

  1. To prepare sauce, melt 2 tbsp butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring, for 1 – 2 minutes.
  2. Add nutmeg and white pepper; cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add remaining 6 tbsp butter and cream.
  3. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened, about 1 – 3 minutes.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted. Season to taste with salt. Remove from heat. Add hot cooked fettuccine to sauce and toss to coat.
