FRENCH TOAST WAFFLES

Kids and adults alike will love this creative cross between French toast and waffles. Serve this breakfast with your favourite breakfast syrup.

Yield: Serves 4 .

FRENCH TOAST WAFFLES

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 24 - 28 diagonally sliced baguette slices, 1/2 inch thick

Directions

  1. Whisk together first 6 ingredients (milk through cinnamon) in a bowl. Pour milk mixture into a pie plate.
  2. Preheat a lightly oiled nonstick electric waffle maker on medium heat. Dip 4 - 6 baguette slices into milk mixture. Turn slices over and let stand for 1 minute.
  3. Place onto hot waffle maker. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining baguette slices and milk mixture. Serve immediately.
