GARDEN CHICKEN BURGERS

Bulk up your ground chicken burgers with some garden fresh veggies. These barbecued burgers are full of carrots, zucchini and green onions.

GARDEN CHICKEN BURGERS

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (0.5 kg) ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrot
  • 1/2 cup shredded zucchini
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp oregano, crumbled
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 whole wheat kaiser buns
  • Lettuce leaves and tomato slices*

Directions

  1. Preheat natural gas barbecue on medium heat for 10 - 15 minutes.
  2. Combine chicken, bread crumbs, carrot, zucchini, green onion, chili powder, oregano, cumin and salt. Shape mixture into 4 patties. Grill patties until completely cooked. Serve in buns with lettuce and tomato.
