GRILLED ONIONS
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp balsamic or red wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3/4 tsp pepper
- 12 slices sweet onion, 1/2 inch thick
Directions
- Combine Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, oil and pepper in a double plastic bag.
- Secure onions with a skewer. Carefully place onions in marinade and gently squeeze bag to coat onions. Seal bag and place on a plate. Allow onions to marinate for 15 minutes.
- Remove onions from marinade. Grill onions over medium heat on natural gas barbecue for 6 - 7 minutes per side.

Tip:
Walla Walla, Vidalia or Maui onions are sweet varieties of onions. If unavailable, cooking onions may be substituted. Marinade may be prepared up to 1 week in advance and kept refrigerated. It may also be used for grilling other vegetables.
