HERB AND SPICE GRILLED STEAK

Elevate your barbecued steak with a marinade made with chili power, paprika, oregano and other herbs and spices.

Yield: Serves 4.

HERB AND SPICE GRILLED STEAK

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tsp each oregano and thyme,crumbled
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary, crumbled
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2 lb (1 kg) sirloin steak, 1 1/2 inches thick

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except steak in a heavy zip-lock plastic bag. Add steak and squeeze bag to coat steak with seasoning mixture; seal bag. Let stand for 15 - 30 minutes.
  2. Remove steak from bag. Broil steak to desired doneness. Alternatively, steak may be grilled over medium heat on natural gas barbecue
