Herbs de Provence

Dried lavender blossoms are a signature ingredient in this savoury herbs blend and are used often in French and Mediterranean dishes. Herbs de Provence makes a great gift from the kitchen and can be added to grilled meats, fish and roasted vegetables. 

Storage time: Up to 2 years on the shelf.

Herbs de Provence

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp dried basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp dried marjoram leaves
  • 2 tbsp dried thyme leaves
  • 1 tbsp dried rosemary leaves
  • 1 tbsp dried savory leaves
  • 2 tsp dried sage leaves
  • 1 tsp fennel seed
  • 1 tsp dried lavender blossoms
  • 1 tsp dried tarragon leaves

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients. 
  2. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place. 
  3. Crumble or grind to use.

Tip:

 

Use only untreated lavender blossoms for this classic herb blend. Do not use lavender blossoms found in commercial sachets and potpourri as these may have been chemically treated. Culinary lavender can be found in specialty kitchen stores.
