HOT CRAB DIP

This hot dip is a classic at both holiday parties and game-night get-togethers. This creamy cheese dip is great with crackers or sliced baguette.

Yield: Makes 2 1/2 cups.

HOT CRAB DIP

Ingredients

  • 1 can crabmeat, rinsed and drained
  • 8 oz (250 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onion
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • Dash hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • Paprika*
  • Crackers*

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine crabmeat, cream cheese, Parmesan, green onion, mayonnaise, white wine, mustard, garlic and hot pepper sauce.
  3. Using medium speed of an electric mixer, beat just until blended.
  4. Spread mixture in a lightly greased shallow 1 quart baking dish or glass pie plate. Sprinkle with almonds and dust with paprika.
  5. Bake until hot and bubbly, about 20 minutes. Serve with crackers.
