ICED CHAI

Forget the coffee shop — you can make your own milky iced chai at home. This spicy and refreshing beverage is made with black tea, honey and fresh ginger.

Yield: Serves 4.

ICED CHAI

Ingredients

  • 4 English breakfast tea bags
  • 1 piece (1 inch) fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup milk (2%)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Ice

Directions

  1. Combine tea bags, ginger, cinnamon and honey in a tea pot. Add boiling water; let stand 10 minutes.
  2. Remove tea bags; chill tea in refrigerator.
  3. Strain tea into a serving pitcher. Stir in milk and vanilla. Serve in tall glasses over ice.
