These wholesome treats are packed with almonds, dried fruit, bran cereal and both pumpkin and sunflower seeds. There’s no need to bake them — everything is held together by a sticky mixture of honey, peanut butter and brown sugar.

Yield: Makes 16.



  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp salted butter
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 cups shredded bran cereal
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins
  • 1/2 cup shelled pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seed


  1. Line a 9 inch square baking pan with non-stick foil.
  2. Combine honey, peanut butter, brown sugar and butter in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in cinnamon, vanilla and salt.
  4. Stir in bran cereal, almonds, cranberries, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds until blended.
  5. Press mixture into prepared pan. Cover and refrigerate until firm.
  6. Cut into bars. Wrap each bar individually in plastic wrap. Store in a cool dry place for up to 1 week. May be frozen for up to 2 months.
