NUTMEG MASHED POTATOES

A little bit of nutmeg adds flavour and interest to classic mashed potatoes.

Yield: Serves 6 - 8.

NUTMEG MASHED POTATOES

Ingredients

  • 6 cups cubed peeled russet potatoes
  • 1 cup hot milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper

Directions

  1. Cook potatoes in boiling salted water until tender; drain. Add milk, butter, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Using low speed of an electric mixer, beat mixture for 1 minute or just until smooth. Do not overbeat.
