NUTTY CHOCOLATE WAFFLES WITH COCOA BUTTER

Indulge yourself at brunch with these chocolaty pecan-studded waffles. We like topping them with our sweet Cocoa Butter.

Yield: Serves 4.

NUTTY CHOCOLATE WAFFLES WITH COCOA BUTTER

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk (2%)
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • Cocoa Butter*

Directions

  1. Combine flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
  2. Whisk together milk, oil and egg until blended. Add milk mixture to flour mixture and stir just until combined. Do not overmix. Fold in pecans. Let batter stand for 10 minutes.
  3. Cook in a preheated greased waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions. Serve with Cocoa Butter.

COCOA BUTTER

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup icing sugar
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Yield: Makes about 1/4 cup.

Directions

  1. Combine butter, icing sugar and cocoa until blended.
