One Pot PASTA AND SAUCE

Keep cleanup simple by making your pasta and sauce in the same pot. With this recipe, you cook up macaroni noodles in a rich beef and tomato sauce.

One Pot PASTA AND SAUCE

Ingredients

  • ​1 tbsp oil
  • 1 lb (0.5 kg) lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can (5 1/2 oz/156 mL) tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 2 cups macaroni
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef, onion and garlic.
  3. Cook, stirring to break up beef, until browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in chicken broth, tomato paste, oregano and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Add pasta. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently, until pasta is tender, about 12 - 15 minutes.
  7. Serve with Parmesan cheese.
