Onion Slaw

Onion Slaw
            Ingredients
- 3 large sweet onions
 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
 - 1/2 cup vinegar
 - 1/2 cup water
 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
 - 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
 - 1/4 tsp celery seed
 
Directions
- Cut onions in half lengthwise and thinly slice crosswise. There should be about 6 cups.
 - Combine 1/2 cup sugar, vinegar and water in a large bowl. Add onions and toss gently to combine.
 - Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
 - Drain onions, discard liquid. Combine mayonnaise, 1/2 tsp sugar and celery seed in a large bowl. Add onions and toss to coat.
