Peanut Butter Dog Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup natural peanut butter (not containing xylitol)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp liquid honey
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup water
  • 1 - 2 tsp chia seeds, optional

Directions

  1. Using an electric mixer on high, beat together peanut butter and egg for 1 minute.
  2. Reduce speed to low and add honey. Add flour gradually, just until completely mixed. Using a spoon, mix in water, 1 tablespoon at a time, to make a soft dough.
  3. Transfer dough to a small container, cover tightly and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking pans with parchment paper.
  5. Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and place 1 inch apart on prepared pan. Flatten with a fork. Sprinkle with chia seeds.
  6. Bake until set on top and light brown on bottom, about 12-15 minutes.
  7. Cool completely before storing.
Tip:

While cold, this dough can be rolled to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into shapes. Bake until set on top and light brown on bottom.

If you have a smaller dog, roll out 45 balls and flatten.
