Put together your own Asian-style peanut sauce with peanut butter, soy sauce, fresh ginger and onion. This sauce is great on chicken skewers or Thai-inspired fare.

Yield: Makes 1 1/2 cups.



  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/4 cup coarsely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp minced fresh ginger
  • Dash cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce


  1. In a saucepan, heat oil over medium heat; add onion, ginger and cayenne.
  2. Cook, stirring frequently, 1 minute. Stir in peanut butter. Gradually stir in water and soy sauce until well blended.
  3. Bring to boil, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
  4. Serve hot or at room temperature.
