Rustic Fennel Crackers

Made with just a few ingredients, these homemade rustic crackers are the perfect addition to any charcuterie board and are sure to impress.

Storage Time: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 1 week or 1 month in the freezer.

Rustic Fennel Crackers

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup room temperature water
  • 1/3 extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • Fleur de sel or kosher salt*

Directions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, fennel seeds and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Pour in water and 1/3 cup oil. Stir until combined.
  3. Knead dough gently 5 times. Flatten dough into a rectangle shape.
  4. Wrap dough with plastic wrap and let stand for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a 15X12 inch rectangle. Using a sharp knife, cut dough into assorted shapes and sizes.
  7. Brush with 1 tbsp oil and sprinkle with fleur de sel. Transfer to a non-stick foil-lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Cool completely in pan on a rack. May be stored in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to 1 week.
