Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore
Make this Italian classic in your slow cooker! Slowly cook chicken to tender perfection in a rich and rustic tomato sauce.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore
Ingredients
- 8 skinless chicken thighs
- 1 jar (700 mL) tomato-based pasta sauce
- 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tsp basil, crumbled
- 1 tsp oregano, crumbled
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1/4 cup water
Directions
- Combine first 10 ingredients (chicken through oregano) in a slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low heat setting for 6 - 7 hours or until chicken is cooked through and vegetables are tender. Increase to high heat setting.
- Whisk together flour and water until smooth. Stir into cacciatore. Cover and cook for 30 minutes or until cacciatore is thickened.
