SLOW COOKER COWBOY BEANS
This big-batch bean recipe is a snap to do in the slow cooker. These classic cowboy beans are cooked in a sticky mix of barbecue sauce, mustard, chipotle pepper sauce and bacon.

SLOW COOKER COWBOY BEANS
Ingredients
- 4 cans (19 oz/540 mL each) mixed beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 1/4 cups ketchup
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup packed golden brown sugar
- 1 tbsp prepared mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp chipotle pepper sauce
- 4 slices bacon, julienned and cooked crisp
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a 5 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on high heat setting until piping hot and thickened, about 3 1/2 – 4 hours.
