SOUTHWESTERN TURKEY BURGERS
Serve these spicy turkey burgers in tortillas to keep with the southwestern theme. Top them with our homemade Guacamole or a store-bought version if you’d prefer.

SOUTHWESTERN TURKEY BURGERS
Ingredients
- 1 lb (0.5 kg) ground turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 tbsp chopped canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Canola oil
- 4 flour tortillas (6 inch)
- 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup Guacamole
Directions
- Combine turkey, green onion, cilantro, chipotle peppers, cumin and salt. Shape mixture into 4 oblong patties.
- Grill patties over medium heat on natural gas barbecue until completely cooked.
- Served wrapped in tortillas with tomatoes and guacamole.

Tip: Hot peppers cause severe skin and eye irritation. Wear rubber gloves when handling hot pepper and avoid touching any exposed skin.
GUACAMOLE
Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado, halved, pitted, peeled and cubed
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 tsp fresh lemon or lime juice
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
- 1 Roma tomato, seeded and diced
Yield: Makes about 1 1/4 cups.
Directions
- Place avocado, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and garlic in a food processor; process until smooth. Transfer mixture to a bowl; stir in tomato. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
