Spicy Pretzel Mix

We brought the heat to this savoury make-ahead snack mix. Serve these tasty pretzels on game day or make a batch and give them as a gift from the kitchen. 

 

Storage time: Up to 1 week in the refrigerator.

Spicy Pretzel Mix

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1 tbsp packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme, crumbled
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp dried dill weed, crumbled
  • 1 pkg pretzel sticks (454 g)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except pretzels in a large zip-lock plastic bag.
  2. Add pretzels. Seal bag and gently squeeze bag to coat pretzels. Let stand, turning bag occasionally, for 45 – 60 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 275°F.
  4. Spread pretzel mixture on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake, stirring every 15 minutes, until pretzels appear dry, about 45 – 60 minutes. May be refrigerated for up to 1 week.
