Whole Wheat and Honey Bread

This healthy whole wheat honey bread is simple to make by adding a few ingredients to a bread machine. Use this delicious bread to make sandwiches or at teatime and enjoy it toasted with your favourite jam.

Storage Time: 2 days on the shelf, 7 days in the refrigerator and up to 2 months in the freezer.

Yield: Makes 1 loaf (2 lbs)

Whole Wheat and Honey Bread


  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup liquid honey
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp skim milk powder
  • 1 tsp bread machine yeast


  1. Place ingredients into baking pan of bread machine in the order in which they are listed or follow manufacturer’s operating instructions. Select the whole wheat bread cycle.
  2. Remove baked bread from pan and cool on a rack.

Tip: If you're not using the timer delay to make this bread, you can use 1 cup water and 1/2 cup milk and no powdered milk.
