FRIED FISH SANDWICHES

Crispy fried fish makes for a delicious sandwich. We use the fish fillets from our Fish and Oven-Roasted Chips recipe and our homemade Tartar Sauce to put together these crunchy sandwiches.

Yield: Makes 6.

FRIED FISH SANDWICHES

Ingredients

  • 6 butter lettuce leaves
  • 12 red onion slices
  • 6 fried fish fillets from Fish and Oven-Roasted Chips
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 tbsp Tartar Sauce

Directions

  1. Place 1 lettuce leaf, 2 red onion slices and 1 fried fish fillet on each bottom half of buns. Top each fillet with 1 tbsp Tartar Sauce. Cover with top halves of buns.

TARTAR SAUCE

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp chopped gherkins or other pickles
  • 1 tbsp chopped shallot
  • 1 tbsp drained capers, chopped
  • 2 tsp grated lemon peel
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Yield: Makes about 2/3 cup.

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients until blended. May be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
