POT ROAST BEEF DIP WITH CARAMELIZED ONIONS

These delectable sandwiches are made with our Beef Pot Roast with Jus. Use leftover pot roast if you have it, though it’s worth making a fresh roast solely for these beef dip sandwiches.

POT ROAST BEEF DIP WITH CARAMELIZED ONIONS

Ingredients

  • ​3 tbsp canola oil
  • 5 cups thinly sliced yellow onions
  • 1/3 cup salted butter
  • 3 cups shredded Beef Pot Roast with Jus
  • 1 1/2 cups jus from Beef Pot Roast with Jus
  • 1 cup shredded aged cheddar cheese
  • 24 slices sweet pickle
  • 6 hoagie Milk and Honey Buns

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large frypan over medium heat. Add butter and sauté until melted. Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are golden, about 30 – 35 minutes. Set caramelized onions aside.
  2. Warm beef and jus, separately. Transfer jus into small individual bowls.
  3. Layer beef, caramelized onions, cheese and pickles on buns. Serve with jus.
